LCV Action Fund Endorses Ben Chandler for Re-Election in Kentucky’s 6th District

WASHINGTON, DC - The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, today announced its endorsement of Ben Chandler (KY-6) for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. Chandler received an impressive 93% score on LCV’s 2009 National Environmental Scorecard and has a lifetime environmental score of 94%.*
“Congressman Chandler consistently supports measures that work to ensure America leads in the creation of the 21st century’s clean energy economy,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “We are proud to endorse Congressman Chandler for re-election because he understands that the policies needed to build a clean energy economy that puts Americans back to work will at the same time reduce our dependence on foreign oil and curb harmful global warming pollution.”
Rep. Chandler believes that renewable energy, efficiency, and conservation are vital components of our energy future.  Throughout his time in Congress, Rep. Chandler has been strong advocate of combating pollution and protecting the bluegrass hills, forests, and waterways in Kentucky.  He is an original cosponsor of the National Forest Roadless Area Conservation Act.
"With Kentucky's rolling bluegrass hills, our streams and lakes, and our forests, I truly believe that Central Kentucky is one of the world's most beautiful and unique landscapes," Congressman Chandler said, "and I am going to do all I can to protect it.  I appreciate the support of the League of Conservation Voters, and I am very much looking forward to working with them in the future to protect the natural beauty of our great state."
Rep. Chandler is also featured on LCVAF’s GiveGreen website,, the only bundling website devoted exclusively to raising money for environmental champions and candidates.
