LCV Action Fund Endorses Dan Seals in Race for U.S. House in Illinois’ 10th District

WASHINGTON, DC - The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, today announced its endorsement of Dan Seals to represent Illinois’ 10th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Seals supports strong clean energy and climate legislation that will reduce pollution and boost the Illinois economy, reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil while getting workers back on the job.
“Dan Seals is a proven leader in the public and private sectors who knows how to bring clean energy jobs to Illinois communities,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “We are proud to endorse Dan Seals because he understands that the best way to get our skilled workers back on the job is with policies that encourage American clean energy and innovation while reducing our dependence on foreign oil and curbing harmful pollution.”
Seals supports* the House-passed American Clean Energy and Security Act that would help create nearly 70,000 clean energy jobs in Illinois**, reduce carbon pollution and increase energy independence. He also joins current members of Congress such as Suzanne Kosmas (FL-24) in supporting an Apollo-type project to spur American innovation in clean energy technologies, reducing our dependence on foreign oil and offering the possibility for an economic boom through clean energy growth across the country.
“I am honored to have earned the support of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund,” said Seals. “Our campaign is about moving beyond politics as usual and pursing thoughtful solutions to the environmental challenges Illinois faces.  Working with the LCV, we can create jobs and revitalize our economy while protecting our environment and ending our dependence on foreign oil."
As a leader in the business community, Seals understands that our dependence on costly foreign oil can only be broken by investing in renewable technologies it will lead to homegrown, secure energy while creating jobs and turning around the economy in the 10th district. His central role in designing a green jobs program for Chicago shows that he has the expertise needed in Congress to implement clean energy policies that get Americans back to work in their communities.
