LCV Action Fund Endorses Patty Murray for Re-Election to the U.S. Senate
Washington, DC - The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, today announced its endorsement of Patty Murray for re-election to the U.S. Senate. Sen. Murray has an impressive 89% LCV lifetime environmental score and received a perfect 100% on LCV’s 2009 National Environmental Scorecard.*
“Senator Murray has long advocated for policies that will bring new clean energy jobs to Washington and reduce our dangerous dependence on oil,” said LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski. “We are proud to endorse Senator Murray for re-election because she is working to ensure that America – and more importantly Washington – leads in the creation of the 21st century’s clean energy economy.”
Sen. Murray has shown a strong commitment to preserving our environment and transitioning to a clean energy economy. As a member of both the Senate Budget and Appropriation Committees, Sen. Murray has secured funding for important clean energy research and development programs. Sen. Murray also helped pass into law legislation that increased fuel economy standards for cars for the first time in 30 years. **
Sen. Murray is also featured on LCVAF’s GiveGreen website, http://lcv.org/givegreen, the only bundling website devoted exclusively to raising money for environmental champions and candidates.
