LCV Applauds Election of Sen. Michael Bennet, Defeat of Ken Buck
COLORADO — Today, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), which works to turn environmental values into national priorities, celebrated the election of Senator Michael Bennet and the defeat of Dirty Dozen member and climate science denier Ken Buck. LCV endorsed Sen. Bennet in both the primary and the general elections.
"LCV congratulates Senator Bennet on his election to the U.S. Senate," said LCV Senior Vice President and Colorado native Tony Massaro. "During his first two years in office, Senator Bennet supported efforts to bring new clean energy jobs to Colorado and make America less dependent on oil, and LCV is thrilled that he will be able to continue this good work in the 112th Congress. Ken Buck, on the other hand, proudly rejected the sound and settled science that man-made carbon pollution contributes to climate change – and Colorado voters responded by rejecting Buck's extreme views."
LCV also applauded the re-election of LCV-supported Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07).
